Background

My experience as a Psychologist has given me a comprehensive understanding of general psychotherapeutic techniques, as well as expertise in several areas of specialization. This has included work in inpatient, outpatient, college counseling and medical settings along with research and supervision,  My early training was influenced by both psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approaches, as well as a two-year post-graduate program at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland.  These varied approaches, along with training in family and group therapy, have given me an appreciation of the need for flexibility and a careful assessment of each individual's unique needs.  My background includes:

  • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Kent State University
  • Director of Psychology and Coordinator of Psychological Services for wellness and obesity treatment - St. Vincent Charity Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio, treating obesity, eating disorders, medical concerns.
  • Director of Group Therapy and Senior Psychologist - Renfrew Center, Philadelphia, Pa., treating women with eating disorders.
  • Psychologist - Parent Resource Center, Wyncote, Pa., treating families of young children.
  • Director of Psychological Services - Pelvic Floor Institute, Graduate Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa., treating women with interstitial cystitis and vulvodynia.
